United States First Lady Melania Trump is stepmother to the First Daughter and Senior Political Advisor Ivanka Trump. But it is worth wondering how close the two women are, and a body language expert reveals the kind of bond they have.
It may or may not be easy to see that both Melania and Ivanka have many things in common. Aside from their White House stints, they also share the same fashion history, having been former models before taking on other pursuits. Their current posts at the White House will also have them constantly together in support of the president. But rumors have also circulated that there was some sort of rift between the First Lady and the Senior Political Advisor, which were quickly clarified, saying that Melania and Ivanka have always been close, and are still close.
According to body language expert Judi James, who analyzed photos of the two at events, she says that Melania and Ivanka do indeed get along. James added that Ivanka may even look up to Melania.
Melania met her future husband Donald Trump in 1998, dating shortly after their first meeting. After six years, Donald proposed to Melania in 2004, and they got married at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago estate. Come 2006, Melania gave birth to their first and only child, Barron. It should be noted that Melania is not that much older than Ivanka, with an 11-year age gap between the stepmother and stepdaughter. This may be another factor as to how the two of them could get along.
Meanwhile, James previously revealed to Express how Melania has gotten confident and is less worried about upstaging her husband ever since she became the First Lady. Analyzing photos of the First Lady before entering the White House and now, James explained that Melania is more focused on looking beautiful. “Her smile was perfectly executed yet rigid enough to hint at the effort involved,” said James.
James also explained how Melania really took her role as the beautiful First Lady seriously, “complimenting and stroking Trump’s alpha-male credentials.”
Compared to Barack and Michelle Obama, James said that Melania’s overall body language was “more red carpet than White House.”
